Chapter on What is Permissible to Pray in, from Clothing and Place, and What is Not Permissible to Pray in, from That
وَ سَأَلَ دَاوُدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ أَبَا اَلْحَسَنِ اَلثَّالِثَ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ: عَنِ اَلْقَرَاطِيسِ وَ اَلْكَوَاغِذِ اَلْمَكْتُوبَةِ عَلَيْهَا هَلْ يَجُوزُ اَلسُّجُودُ عَلَيْهَا فَكَتَبَ« يَجُوزُ»
Dawud ibn Yazid asked Abu Al-Hasan al-Thalith عليه السلام (the Third), peace be upon him, about paper (qaratis) and parchment (kawaghidh) that have writing on them, whether it is permissible to prostrate upon them. So He عليه السلام wrote: “It is permissible.”
