Chapter on the Prayer Times (Mawaqit)

Ali narrated from his father from Ibn Abi Umayr from Abu Abdillah Al-Farra' from Abu Abdillah عليه السلام, peace be upon him, who said: A man from among our companions said to Imam عليه السلام: “Sometimes the time becomes unclear to us on a cloudy day.” Imam عليه السلام said: "Do you know those birds you have in Iraq that are called roosters?" I said: “Yes”. Imam عليه السلام said: "When their voices rise and they call to each other, then the sun has passed the meridian," or Imam عليه السلام said: "then pray."
