Chapter on the Manner of Prayer, Its Description and What is Obligatory and Recommended
مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ اَلْحُسَيْنِ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ بْنِ بُكَيْرٍ عَنْ مِسْمَعٍ اَلْبَصْرِيِّ قَالَ صَلَّيْتُ مَعَ أَبِي عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ فَقَرَأَ«« بِسْمِ اَللّٰهِ اَلرَّحْمٰنِ اَلرَّحِيمِ` اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ رَبِّ اَلْعٰالَمِينَ»» ثُمَّ قَرَأَ اَلسُّورَةَ اَلَّتِي بَعْدَ اَلْحَمْدِ وَلَمْ يَقْرَأْ« بِسْمِ اَللّٰهِ اَلرَّحْمٰنِ اَلرَّحِيمِ» ثُمَّ قَامَ فِي اَلثَّانِيَةِ فَقَرَأَ اَلْحَمْدَ وَلَمْ يَقْرَأْ« بِسْمِ اَللّٰهِ اَلرَّحْمٰنِ اَلرَّحِيمِ ثُمَّ قَرَأَ بِسُورَةٍ أُخْرَى
Muhammad ibn Ali ibn Mahbub from Muhammad ibn Al-Husayn from Safwan from Abdullah ibn Bukayr from Misma‘ Al-Basri who said:
I prayed with Abu Abdillah عليه السلام, peace be upon him, and Imam عليه السلام recited "In the name of Allah سبحانه وتعالى, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate” and then ‘Surah Al Fatiha’. Then Imam عليه السلام recited the Surah after Al-Hamd and did not recite "Bismillah Hir Rahman Nir Rahim." Then Imam عليه السلام stood in the second unit and recited Al-Hamd and did not recite "Bismillah Hir Rahman Nir Rahim" and then recited another Surah.
