Chapter on the Manner of Prayer, Its Description and What is Obligatory and Recommended
عَنْهُ عَنْ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنِ اِبْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اَلْحَمِيدِ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ وَ أَظُنُّهُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنَ غَالِبٍ قَالَ قَالَ: إِذَا قَامَ اَلرَّجُلُ فِي اَللَّيْلِ فَظَنَّ أَنَّ اَلصُّبْحَ قَدْ أَضَاءَ فَأَوْتَرَ ثُمَّ نَظَرَ فَرَأَى أَنَّ عَلَيْهِ لَيْلاً قَالَ« يُضِيفُ إِلَى اَلْوَتْرِ رَكْعَةً ثُمَّ يَسْتَقْبِلُ صَلاَةَ اَللَّيْلِ ثُمَّ يُوتِرُ بَعْدَهُ»
From him from Ya'qub ibn Yazid from Ibn Abi Umayr from Ibrahim ibn Abd Al-Hamid from some of our companions from Abu Abdillah عليه السلام, peace be upon him, and I think it was Ishaq ibn Ghalib, who said:
He (ibn Ghalib) said: “When a man stands up during the night and thinks that dawn has arrived, so he performs the witr prayer, then he looks and realizes that it is still night” Imam عليه السلام said: "He should add a rak'ah to the witr, then resume the night prayer, and then perform the witr prayer after it."
