Al-Husayn ibn Sa‘id, from Muhammad ibn Sinan, from Ibn Muskan, from Abu Basir: Abu Abdillah عليه السلام said: “If you are an imam, then the ‘taslim’ is that you send salam upon the Prophet (peace be upon him and his family) and say: ‘Peace be upon us and upon the righteous servants of Allah سبحانه وتعالى.’ Once you say that, the prayer has ended. Then you inform the people by saying, while facing the qiblah, ‘Peace be upon you.’ And likewise, if you are praying alone, you say: ‘Peace be upon us and upon the righteous servants of Allah سبحانه وتعالى ‘ just as you would say if you were the imam. But if you are in a congregation, then say what you have said, and send salam upon those on your right and your left. If there is no one on your left, then send salam upon those on your right, and do not omit sending ‘taslim’ to your right even if there is no one on your left.”
