Al-Husayn ibn Sa‘id from Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Najran from Safwan who said:
I prayed behind Abu Abdillah عليه السلام for several days. He عليه السلام used to recite in Surah al-Fatiha: ‘Bismillah Hir Rahman Nir Rahim’, and when it was a prayer in which the recitation is not to be recited aloud, He عليه السلام would recite ‘Bismillah Hir Rahman Nir Rahim’ aloud and would conceal the rest (of the surahs).”
