Muhammad ibn Ali ibn Mahbub from Muhammad ibn Abd al-Jabbar from Abd al-Rahman ibn Hammad from Ibrahim ibn Abd al-Hamid from a man: Abu Abdillah عليه السلام said: “If you are afflicted with distress, then wipe your hand over the place of your prostration, then pass your hand over your face” - meaning from the side of your left cheek, over your forehead, to the side of your right cheek. This is how Ibrahim ibn Abd al-Hamid described it to us. Then (Imam عليه السلام instructed) say: ‘In the Name of Allah سبحانه وتعالى, the One besides whom there is no god, Knower of the unseen and the seen… the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate. O Allah سبحانه وتعالى, remove from me distress and sorrow.’” (three times)
