Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa, from al-Hasan ibn Ali, from Abdullah ibn al-Barqi and Abu Ahmad, from some of our companions:
Abu Abdillah عليه السلام said: “It is proper for the servant, when he prays, to recite with measured tone (tartil). And when he passes by a verse that mentions Paradise or the Fire, he should ask Allah سبحانه وتعالى for Paradise and seek refuge in Allah سبحانه وتعالى from the Fire. And when he passes by ‘O people’ and ‘O you who believe’, he should say: ‘Labbayk, our Lord عز وجل.’”
