Muhammad ibn Ya‘qub from Ali ibn Ibrahim from his father from Ibn Abi Umayr from ‘Umar ibn Udhaynah from Zurarah, who said:
I said to Abu Ja‘far, peace be upon him: "The two rak‘ahs that are before the dawn (al-ghadah) prayer, what is their time?" Imam عليه السلام said: "Before the rising of the dawn. So when the dawn rises, then the time of the dawn prayer has entered."
