Chapter on the Detailed Explanation of Prayer, Including the Obligatory and Recommended, and What is Permissible and Not Permissible.
وَ عَنْهُ عَنِ اَلْحَسَنِ عَنْ فَضَالَةَ عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ قَالَ: قُلْتُ أُصْبِحُ عَنِ اَلْوَتْرِ إِلَى اَللَّيْلِ كَيْفَ أَقْضِي قَالَ« مِثْلاً بِمِثْلٍ»
And from him, from al-Hasan, from Fadalah, from Hammad ibn Uthman, from Abu Abdillah عليه السلام, who said:
I asked (Imam عليه السلام): “I reach the night without having performed the ‘witr’, how should I make it up?” Imam عليه السلام said: "Like for like."
