Al-Husayn ibn Sa‘id, from Ahmad ibn Muhammad, from him, who said: Abu Ja‘far عليه السلام said to me regarding the ‘qunut’ in the Fajr prayer: "If you wish, then perform the ‘qunut’, and if you wish, then do not perform it." And Imam عليه السلام said: "When there is ‘taqiyyah’ (precautionary dissimulation), then do not perform the ‘qunut’, and I personally adopt this."
