Tahdhīb al-Aḥkām|Volume 3|Book 1|Chapter 22
And from him, from Abu Ja’far, from his father, from Abdillah ibn al-Mughirah, from Abdillah ibn Muskan, from Malik, the client (mawla) of al-Jahm, from Abu Abdillah عليه السلام, peace be upon him, who said: Imam al-Sadiq عليه السلام said: “If the prayer over the deceased (Salat al-Mayyit) passes you by (meaning you miss it) until he is buried, then there is no harm in praying (Salat Al Mayyit) over him after he has been buried.”
