Chapter on the Rulings of Congregational Prayer (the Minimum Number for Congregational Prayer, the Description of the Imam, Who Is to Be Followed and Who Is Not to Be Followed, Recitation Behind Both of Them, the Rulings of Those Led in Prayer, and Other Such Rulings Related to It)

Sa’ad ibn Abdillah from Yaqub ibn Yazid from Amru ibn Uthman and Muhammad ibn Yazid from Muhammad ibn Udhafir from Umar ibn Yazid, who said: I asked Aba Abdillah عليه السلام, peace be upon him, about an imam (of prayer) who is acceptable in all his matters, knowledgeable, except that he speaks to his parents with harsh words that provoke their anger, may I recite (prayer) behind him? Imam عليه السلام said: “No, do not read behind him, as he is undutiful and severing (ties).”
