Chapter on the Virtue of the Month of Ramadan and the Prayers Within It in Addition to the Recommended Prayers Mentioned in the Other Months

And from him, from Hammad, from Abdillah ibn al-Mughirah, from Ibn Sinan, from Abu Abdillah عليه السلام, said: I asked Imam al-Sadiq عليه السلام about the prayer in the Month of Ramadan. Imam عليه السلام said: “Thirteen rak’ahs among them the Witr and two rak’ahs before the Fajr prayer. That is how the Messenger of Allah سبحانه وتعالى, used to pray. And if there had been any virtue in more than that, the Messenger of Allah سبحانه وتعالى, would have practiced it and been more entitled to it.”
