Chapter on Supplication Between the Units of Prayer (Rak‘at)

Ali ibn Hatim, from Ahmad ibn Ali, from Ahmad ibn Ishaq, from Bakr ibn Muhammad, from Abu Abdillah عليه السلام, peace be upon him: Imam al-Sadiq عليه السلام said: “My face has prostrated to You عز وجل in servitude and humility. There is no God but You عز وجل, truly, truly. The First before everything, and the Last after everything. Here I am before You عز وجل, my forelock in Your hand so forgive me, for none forgives the great sins except You عز وجل. So forgive me, for I confess my sins against myself, and none can repel the great sin except You عز وجل.” Then raise your head from the prostration, and when you are upright standing, supplicate with whatever you wish.
