Ali ibn Hatim from Muhammad ibn Amr, from Ja’far ibn al-Hasan, from his father, from al-Husayn ibn Rashid:
It was reported that Abu Abdillah عليه السلام used to instruct with this supplication: “O’ Allah سبحانه وتعالى, indeed You عز وجل send down during the night and the day whatever You عز وجل will so send blessings upon (Prophet) Muhammad صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم and family of Muhammad صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم, And send down upon me, and upon my brothers, my family, and my neighbors, Your blessings and forgiveness and expansive provision, and suffice us in our needs. O’ Allah سبحانه وتعالى, send blessings upon Muhammad صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم and family of Muhammad صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم, and provide for us from where we expect and from where we do not expect, and protect us from where we take precautions and from where we do not take precautions. O’ Allah سبحانه وتعالى, send blessings upon Muhammad صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم and the family of Muhammad صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم, and place us in Your protection and Your safeguard mighty is Your protection, exalted is Your praise, and there is no God other than You عز وجل.”
