Narrated by Ibrahim ibn Ishaq al-Ahmari from Abdillah ibn Hammad al-Ansari from Abu Basir from a group among his companions from Sadan ibn Muslim from Abu Basir from Abu Abdillah عليه السلام, peace be upon him: something similar to that, and he added in it: (The addition to the supplication) “O’ Allah سبحانه وتعالى, I ask You عز وجل by the most beloved of what You عز وجل have been supplicated with, and the most pleasing of what You عز وجل have been pleased with for (Prophet) Muhammad صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم, may Allah سبحانه وتعالى bless him and his family, that You عز وجل bless (Prophet) Muhammad صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم and the family of Muhammad صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم, and do not make my farewell to the Month of Ramadan, the farewell of departure from this world, nor the last of my worship of You عز وجل in it, nor the last of my fasting for You عز وجل, and grant me the return to it, then the return to it, through Your mercy. O’ Guardian of the believers, and grant me success in the Night of al-Qadr and make it for me ‘better than a thousand months’ (Surah Al Qadr). O’ Lord عز وجل of the worlds, O’ Lord عز وجل of the Night of al-Qadr and the One who has made it better than ‘a thousand months’, O’ Lord عز وجل of the night and the day, and the mountains and the seas, and the darknesses and the lights, and the earth and the sky. O’ Creator, O’ Fashioner, O’ Most Compassionate, O’ Most Bountiful, O’ Allah سبحانه وتعالى, O’ All-Merciful, O’ Most Merciful, O’ Ever-Living, O’ Originator of the heavens and the earth, to You عز وجل belong the Most Beautiful Names, the Highest Attributes, the Majesty, and the Blessings. I ask You عز وجل by Your Name: ‘In the name of Allah سبحانه وتعالى, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful’, to bless (Prophet) Muhammad صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم and the family of Muhammad صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم, And to place my name on this night among the fortunate ones, And my soul among the martyrs, And my good deeds in the highest of the high, And my misdeeds as forgiven. And to grant me certainty that directly touches my heart, And faith not tainted by doubt, And contentment with what You عز وجل have allotted for me, And to grant me ‘good in this world and good in Hereafter’ (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:201). And that You عز وجل protect me from ‘the punishment of Fire’ (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:201). O’ Allah سبحانه وتعالى, place in what You عز وجل decree and ordain from the determined matter, and in what You عز وجل separate from the wise command on the Night of al-Qadr, in the decree that is not repelled, nor altered, nor changed, that You عز وجل write me among the pilgrims of Your Sacred House, those whose Hajj is accepted, whose striving is appreciated, whose sins are forgiven, and whose misdeeds are atoned for. And place in what You عز وجل decree and ordain that You عز وجل set my neck free from the Fire, O’ Most Merciful of the merciful. O’ Allah سبحانه وتعالى, I ask You عز وجل, and no servant asks anyone with the generosity and liberality like Yours, and I turn with longing to You عز وجل, and none is turned to, like You عز وجل. You عز وجل are the one to whom the supplication of those who ask is directed, and the ultimate object of desire for those who seek. I ask You عز وجل with the greatest of all requests, and the best of them, and the most successful of them, that which it befits the servants to ask You عز وجل with. O’ Allah سبحانه وتعالى, O’ Most Merciful, O’ Most Compassionate, And by Your Names those of them which I know and those which I do not know, And by Your Most Beautiful Names and Your Highest Attributes, And by Your blessings which cannot be counted, And by the noblest of Your Names in Your sight, and the most beloved to You عز وجل, And the most honorable in rank before You عز وجل, And the closest of them to You عز وجل in means, And the greatest of them in reward from You عز وجل, And the swiftest of them in being answered by You عز وجل, And by Your hidden, treasured Name the Ever-Living, the Sustainer, the Greatest, the Most Glorious the Name which You عز وجل love, and desire, and are pleased with when someone calls upon You عز وجل by it, and You عز وجل answer their supplication. And it is incumbent upon You عز وجل not to disappoint one who asks of You عز وجل. And I ask You عز وجل by every name that belongs to You عز وجل, And by your every name in the Torah, And by your every name in the Gospel, And by your every name in the Psalms, And by your every name in the Criterion (the Qur’an), And by every name with which those who bear Your Throne, have called upon You عز وجل. And by the angels of Your heavens, And the inhabitants of Your earth, whether prophet, or truthful one, or martyr, And by the right of those who turn toward You عز وجل with longing, those who are drawn near to You عز وجل, those who seek refuge in You عز وجل. And by the right of those who reside near Your Sacred House pilgrims, and those performing umrah, and those sanctifying it, and those striving in Your path. And by the right of every servant who worships You عز وجل, whether on land, or sea, or plain, or mountain. I call upon You عز وجل with the supplication of one whose need has intensified, whose sins are many, whose burden is great, whose effort is weak; the supplication of one who finds for himself no provider, no support for his weakness, no forgiver for his sins besides You عز وجل, fleeing to You عز وجل, seeking refuge with You عز وجل, devoted in worship to You عز وجل, neither arrogant nor disdainful, fearful, wretched, poor, and seeking protection with You عز وجل. I ask You عز وجل by Your Might and Your Greatness. And by Your overwhelming power, And by Your authority, And by Your dominion, And by Your splendor, And by Your generosity, And by Your bounty, And by Your blessings, And by Your beauty, And by Your elegance, And by Your power over whatever You عز وجل will from among Your creation, I call upon You عز وجل, O’ my Lord عز وجل, in fear and hope, in awe and in longing, with humility and devotion, with supplication and persistence, with insistence and pleading, in submission to You عز وجل, there is no God but You عز وجل, You عز وجل alone, You عز وجل have no partner. O’ Holy One, O’ Holy One, O’ Holy One, O’ Allah سبحانه وتعالى, O’ Allah سبحانه وتعالى, O’ Allah سبحانه وتعالى, O’ All-Merciful, O’ All-Merciful, O’ All-Merciful, O’ Most Compassionate, O’ Most Compassionate, O’ Most Compassionate, O’ Lord, O’ Lord, O’ Lord I seek refuge in You عز وجل, O’ Allah سبحانه وتعالى, the One, the Unique, the Eternal Refuge, the Single, the Supreme, the Most Exalted. And I ask You عز وجل by everything I have called upon You عز وجل with, and by Your Names which fill all of Your dominions, that You عز وجل bless (Prophet) Muhammad صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم and the family of Muhammad صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم, and forgive me, and have mercy on me, and expand for me from Your great bounty, And accept from me the Month of Ramadan its fasting, its night prayers, its obligations, and its supererogatory acts and forgive me, And have mercy on me, and pardon me, And do not make it the last Month of Ramadan that I fasted for You عز وجل and worshipped You عز وجل in. And do not make my farewell to it the farewell of departure from this world. O’ Allah سبحانه وتعالى, ordain for me from Your mercy, Your forgiveness, Your pleasure, and Your awe the best of what You عز وجل have given to anyone who worshipped You عز وجل in it. O’ Allah سبحانه وتعالى, so do not make me the most deprived among those who asked You عز وجل during it, And make me among those whom You عز وجل have freed in this month from the Fire, And forgiven for them what has passed of their sins and what is yet to come, And for whom You عز وجل have decreed the best of what was hoped and longed for from You O’ Most Merciful of the merciful. O’ Allah سبحانه وتعالى, grant me the opportunity to return to fasting it for You عز وجل, and worshipping You عز وجل in it, And make me among those whom You عز وجل have written in this month as the pilgrims of Your Sacred House, those whose Hajj is accepted, whose sins are forgiven, and whose deeds are accepted. Ameen, ameen, ameen, O’ Lord عز وجل of the worlds. O’ Allah سبحانه وتعالى, do not leave for me in it, any sin but that You عز وجل forgive it, nor any misdeed but that You عز وجل erase it, nor any stumble but that You عز وجل lift it, nor any debt but that You عز وجل repay it, nor any poverty but that You عز وجل enrich it, for indeed, in Your generosity, Your pardon, and Your bounty, there is vastness for the forgiveness of our sins. So forgive us, overlook us, and do not punish us for them, O’ Most Merciful of the merciful. O’ Allah سبحانه وتعالى, honor me in this gathering of mine, with an honor after which You عز وجل will never disgrace me, And grant me a dignity after which You عز وجل will never humiliate me, And grant me well-being with a well-being after which You عز وجل will never afflict me, And raise me with an elevation after which You عز وجل will never bring me down. And turn away from me the evil of every rebellious devil, And the evil of every stubborn tyrant, And the evil of every near or distant one, And the evil of every small or great (being), And the evil of every creature You عز وجل are the One who ‘holds it by its forelock. Indeed, my Lord is on a straight path’ (Surah Hud 11:56). O’ Allah سبحانه وتعالى, whatever is in my heart of doubt, or uncertainty, or denial, or despair, or grief, or frivolity, or arrogance, or joy, or pride, or hypocrisy, or showing off, or seeking reputation, or division, or insincerity, or disbelief, or immorality, or disobedience, or anything through which You عز وجل are not pleased with a friend of Yours, I ask You عز وجل to erase it from my heart and replace it with faith in You عز وجل, contentment with Your decree, loyalty to Your covenant, fear of You عز وجل, detachment from the world, desire for what is with You عز وجل, trust in You عز وجل, tranquility toward You عز وجل, and a sincere repentance to You عز وجل. O’ Allah سبحانه وتعالى, if You عز وجل have already enabled us to reach it, then (accept it); but if not, then delay our lives until the coming year, so that You عز وجل enable us to reach it, with ease from You عز وجل and well-being, O’ Most Merciful of the merciful. And may Allah سبحانه وتعالى send blessings upon (Prophet) Muhammad صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم and his pure, purified, virtuous family عليه السلام, and grant them much and noble peace and may the mercy of Allah سبحانه وتعالى and His عز وجل blessings be upon them.”
