Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ismail ibn Sa’ad al-Ashari from Imam al-Ridha عليه السلام, peace be upon him, said:
He (narrator) said: “I asked Imam al-Ridha عليه السلام about the takbir in the two Eids.” Imam عليه السلام said: “The takbir in the first (rak’ah) is seven takbirs before the recitation, and in the second (rak’ah) it is five takbirs after the recitation.”
