Muhammad ibn Ya‘qub from al-Husayn ibn Muhammad from Mu‘alla ibn Muhammad from al-Washsha’ from Aban ibn Uthman from Salamah from Abu Abdillah عليه السلام, peace be upon him, who said:
Imam al-Sadiq عليه السلام said: “Two Eids coincided during the time of the Commander of the Faithful عليه السلام, peace be upon him, so Imam Ali عليه السلام addressed the people and said: ‘This is a day in which two Eids have come together. So whoever wishes to perform the congregational prayer with us, let him do so, and whoever does not, then indeed there is a concession for him’ (meaning whoever is staying at a distance).”
