Chapter on the Prayer During Travel
Tahdhīb al-Aḥkām|Volume 3|Book 2|Chapter 1
From him, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Najran, who said:
I asked Abu al-Hasan عليه السلام, about praying at night during travel in the litter (al-mahmil). Imam عليه السلام said: “If you are not facing the qiblah, then face the qiblah, pronounce the takbir, and pray in whatever direction your camel takes you.” I asked: “May I be your ransom, (can I pray) at the beginning of the night?” Imam عليه السلام said: “(Yes), If you fear missing it at the end of the night.”
