Chapter on the Prayer During Travel

From him, from Muhammad ibn Sahl from his father, who said: I asked Abu al-Hasan عليه السلام, peace be upon him, about a man who travels to his estate at a distance of two or three ‘barid’, and his route passes through the estates of his cousins. Should he shorten (the prayer) and break his fast, or complete (the prayer) and fast? Imam عليه السلام said: “He does not shorten (the prayers), and he does not break his fast.”
