Chapter on the Prayer During Travel

Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Yahya from Ahmad ibn al-Hasan ibn Ali ibn Faddal from Amr ibn Sa'id al-Mada'ini from Musaddiq ibn Sadaqah from Ammar ibn Musa from Abu Abdillah عليه السلام, peace be upon him: Imam al-Sadiq عليه السلام said regarding a man who sets out on a journey and passes by a village or a house of his and stays in it. Imam عليه السلام said: “He should complete the prayer, even if he possesses nothing there, except a single palm tree, and he should not shorten (the prayers). And he should fast, if fasting becomes due, while he is there.”
