Chapter on the Prayer During Travel

From him, from Ayyub from Safwan ibn Yahya from Sa’ad ibn Abi Khalaf, who said: Ali ibn Yaqtin asked Abu al-Hasan al-Awwal عليه السلام (the First), peace be upon him, about a house that a man owns in a city or in an estate, and he passes by it. Imam عليه السلام said: “If it is among the places he has lived in, then he should complete the prayer in it; but if it is among those he has not lived in, then let him shorten (prayer).”
