Tahdhīb al-Aḥkām|Volume 3|Book 2|Chapter 1
Ahmad ibn Muhammad, from Muhammad ibn Sahl, from his father, who said:
I asked Abu al-Hasan عليه السلام, peace be upon him, about a man who sets out on a journey, then the intention to stay (al-iqamah) occurs to him while he is in the middle of his prayer. Should he complete (the prayer) or shorten it? Imam عليه السلام said: “He should complete (the prayer), if the intention to stay arises during it (middle of his prayer).”
