Chapter on the Virtue of Mosques and Prayer Within Them, and the Virtue of Congregational Prayer and Its Rulings

From him, from al-Husayn ibn Saeed from Fadalah ibn Ayyub from al-Husayn ibn Uthman from Sama’ah from Abu Basir who said: I asked Imam عليه السلام about a man who prayed with a group while thinking it was the noon (Dhuhr) prayer, but it was actually the afternoon (Asr) prayer. Imam عليه السلام said: “Then let him count it as the noon (Dhuhr) prayer and let him perform the afternoon (Asr) prayer anew.”
