Chapter on the Virtue of Mosques and Prayer Within Them, and the Virtue of Congregational Prayer and Its Rulings
From him, from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Abi Nasr from Ibrahim ibn Shaybah who said:
I wrote to Abu Ja’far عليه السلام, peace be upon him, asking Imam عليه السلام about praying behind someone who shows allegiance to the Commander of the Faithful عليه السلام, peace be upon him, yet believes in wiping over the leather socks, or behind someone who forbids wiping, yet he himself wipes. Imam عليه السلام wrote: “If you and they are gathered in one place and you have no choice but to pray, then give the adhan for yourself and the iqamah. If he begins the recitation before you, then do tasbih (glorify Allah سبحانه وتعالى).”
