Chapter on the Virtue of Mosques and Prayer Within Them, and the Virtue of Congregational Prayer and Its Rulings
From him, from al-Barqi from Abu Talib Abdillah ibn al-Salt and al-Abbas ibn Ma'ruf all from Bakr ibn Muhammad al-Azdi who said:
Abu Abdillah عليه السلام, peace be upon him, said: “Indeed, I dislike for the believer to pray behind the imam (of prayer) in a prayer in which the recitation is not recited aloud, and he stands (mute) as if he were a donkey.” He (al-Azdi) said: “I asked, ‘May I be your ransom, then what should he do?’” Imam عليه السلام said: “He should glorify (say tasbih).”
