Chapter on the Virtue of Mosques and Prayer Within Them, and the Virtue of Congregational Prayer and Its Rulings

From him, from Muhammad ibn al-Husayn, from Muhammad ibn Isma'il, from Salih ibn Uqbah, from Amr ibn Abi al-Miqdam, from his father, from Habbah al-Urani, who said: The Commander of the Faithful عليه السلام, peace be upon him, went out to al-Hirah and said: “Surely this shall be joined to this” And Imam عليه السلام gestured with his hand to Kufah and al-Hirah, (Imam عليه السلام continued) “Until land between them shall be sold by dinars, and a mosque shall indeed be built in al-Hirah with five hundred doors, in which the Caliph of the Riser ‘the Qa'im (ajf)’, may Allah سبحانه وتعالى the Exalted hasten his relief, will pray. This is because the ‘Mosque of Kufah’ will be too small for them. And indeed, twelve just Imams عليه السلام shall pray in it.” I asked: “O Commander of the Faithful عليه السلام, will this ‘Mosque of Kufah’ that you describe, be able to accommodate the people on that day?” Imam عليه السلام said: “Four mosques shall be built for him (the Qa'im (ajf)); Masjid al-Kufa will be the smallest of them, and this one, and two mosques at the two ends of Kufa, on this side and that side” And Imam عليه السلام pointed with his hand toward the Basrans (al-Basriyyin) and the people of al-Ghari (al-Ghariyyin).
