Muhammad ibn Ali ibn Mahbub from Ibrahim ibn Hashim from Amr ibn Uthman from Muhammad ibn Udhafir from Muhammad ibn Muslim from Abu Ja’far عليه السلام, peace be upon him, who said: Imam al-Baqir عليه السلام said: “In Kufah, there are cursed mosques and blessed mosques. As for the blessed; the ‘Mosque of Ghani’. By Allah, its qiblah is upright, and its soil is pure, and it was established by a believing man. And the world will not end until two springs burst forth at it, and there will be two gardens upon it. But its people are cursed, and it has been taken away from them. And the mosque of ‘Banu Zafar’, and that is the ‘Mosque of al-Sahlah’, and the ‘Mosque of al-Hamra’, and the ‘Mosque of Ju‘fi’ and it is not their mosque today, (and It has disappeared.)” Imam عليه السلام said: “As for the cursed mosques; the ‘Mosque of Thaqif’, the ‘Mosque of al-Ash‘ath’, the ‘Mosque of Jarir ibn Abdillah al-Bajali’, the ‘Mosque of Simak’, and the ‘Mosque of al-Hamra’, it was built over the grave of a Pharaoh from among the Pharaohs.”
