Chapter on the Virtue of Mosques and Prayer Within Them, and the Virtue of Congregational Prayer and Its Rulings
عَنْهُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي اَلصُّهْبَانِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنِ اَلْعَلاَءِ بْنِ فُضَيْلٍ عَمَّنْ رَوَاهُ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ قَالَ:« إِذَا دَخَلْتَ اَلْمَسْجِدَ وَ أَنْتَ تُرِيدُ أَنْ تَجْلِسَ فَلاَ تَدْخُلْهُ إِلاَّ طَاهِراً وَ إِذَا دَخَلْتَ فَاسْتَقْبِلِ اَلْقِبْلَةَ ثُمَّ اُدْعُ اَللَّهَ وَ اِسْأَلْهُ وَ سَمِّ حِينَ تَدْخُلُهُ وَ اِحْمَدِ اَللَّهَ وَ صَلِّ عَلَى اَلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اَللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ»
From him, from Muhammad ibn Abi al-Suhban from Muhammad ibn Sinan from al-‘Ala ibn Fudayl from one who narrated it from Abu Ja’far عليه السلام, peace be upon him, who said:
Imam al-Baqir عليه السلام said: “When you enter the mosque intending to sit, do not enter it except in a state of purity. And when you enter, face the qiblah, then supplicate to Allah سبحانه وتعالى and ask Him عز وجل, and mention His عز وجل name when you enter it. And praise Allah سبحانه وتعالى and send blessings upon the Prophet صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم, peace be upon him and his family.”
