Chapter on Additions

And from him, from a number of our companions, from Sahl ibn Ziyad, from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Abi Nasr, from Ibn Abi Ya'fur, from Abu Abdillah عليه السلام, peace be upon him: Imam عليه السلام said: "That the land of jizyah (per-capita poll tax) is not to have the jizyah lifted from them, and the jizyah is only the grant of the emigrants, and charity is for its people whom Allah سبحانه وتعالى named in His سبحانه وتعالى Book, and they have nothing from the jizyah." Then Imam عليه السلام said: "How vast justice is." Then Imam عليه السلام said: "Indeed, the people become independent when justice is done among them, and the sky sends down its provision, and the earth brings forth its blessing by the permission of Allah سبحانه وتعالى, Mighty and Majestic."
