Chapter on Zakat of the Wealth of Children and the Insane

Sa’ad, from Ahmad ibn Muhammad, from al-Abbas ibn Maruf, from Hammad ibn Isa, from Hariz ibn Abdullah, from Zurarah and Muhammad ibn Muslim, from Abu Ja’far عليه السلام and Abu Abdillah عليه السلام, peace be upon them both, said: Imam عليه السلام said: “The wealth of the orphan has nothing upon it in specie and silent wealth (al-samit). As for the yields, then charity upon them is obligatory.”
