Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Yahya, from Ahmad ibn al-Hasan ibn Ali ibn Faddal, from Amr ibn Said, from Musaddiq ibn Sadaqah, from Ammar ibn Musa, from Abu Abdillah عليه السلام, peace be upon him, who said:
I (narrator) asked Imam عليه السلام about ‘a man who goes out for a need and travels five farsakhs or six farsakhs, then comes to a village and stops in it. Then, he leaves from it and travels another five farsakhs and six; that is not permissible, then he stops in that place.’ Imam عليه السلام said: “He is not a traveller until he travels from his house or his village eight farsakhs, so let him complete the prayer.”
