Chapter on Ruling of the Forgetful One and the Mistaken One Regarding Fasting

Al-Husayn ibn Said, from al-Qasim, from Ali, from Abu Basir, who said: I (narrator) asked Abu Abdillah عليه السلام, peace be upon him, about ‘a man placing his hand upon the body of his wife while he is fasting.’ Imam عليه السلام said: “There is no harm, and if he emits pre-seminal fluid (amadha), it does not break the fast.” He (narrator) said: “And Imam عليه السلام said: ‘Do not have intimate relations with them,’” -meaning intercourse (al-ghishyan) in the month of Ramadan during the day.”
