Chapter on Ruling of the Forgetful One and the Mistaken One Regarding Fasting

Muhammad ibn Yaqub, from a number of our companions, from Sahl ibn Ziyad, from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Abi Nasr, from Dawud ibn Sirhan, from Abu Abdillah عليه السلام, peace be upon him: (Imam عليه السلام was asked) concerning ‘a man who forgets and eats in the month of Ramadan.’ Imam عليه السلام said: “He completes his fast, for it is only something that Allah سبحانه وتعالى, Mighty and Majestic, has fed him.”
