Chapter on Making Up the Month of Ramadan, and the Ruling of One Who Breaks the Fast in It Intentionally and Forgetfully, and One upon Whom Fasting Two Consecutive Months Is Obligatory and He Breaks the Fast during Them, or upon Whom There Is a Vow Regarding Fasting
Muhammad ibn Yaqub, from Muhammad ibn Yahya, from Ahmad ibn Muhammad, from Uthman ibn Isa, from Samaah ibn Mihran, who said:
I (narrator) asked Abu Abdillah عليه السلام, peace be upon him, about ‘a man upon whom there is the fasting of two consecutive months, may he separate between the days?’ Imam عليه السلام said: “If he has fasted more than a month and joined it, then an affair occurred for him and he broke the fast, there is no harm. But if it was less than a month or a month, then upon him is to repeat the fasting.”
