Muhammad ibn Yaqub, from Ali ibn Ibrahim, from his father, from Ibn Abi Umayr, from Hammad, from al-Halabi, who said:
I (narrator) asked Abu Abdillah عليه السلام, peace be upon him, about ‘a man upon whom there is a portion from the month of Ramadan (of qada fast). May he perform voluntary fasting?’ Imam عليه السلام said: “No, not until he makes up what is upon him from the month of Ramadan.”
