Chapter on Additions

And from him, from Muhammad ibn Yahya, from Muhammad ibn al-Husayn, from Muhammad ibn Ismail ibn Bazi, from Salih ibn Uqbah, from Uqbah, who said: I (narrator) said to Abu Abdillah عليه السلام, peace be upon him: “May I be made your ransom, I have become old and weak from fasting, so what should I do regarding these three days in every month?” Imam عليه السلام said: “O Uqbah, give a dirham in charity for each day.” He (narrator) said: “I asked, ‘One dirham?’” Imam عليه السلام said: “Perhaps they have become many with you, and you consider the dirham little.” He (narrator) said: “I said, ‘Yes, indeed the blessings of Allah سبحانه وتعالى upon me are abundant.’” Imam عليه السلام said: “O Uqbah, feeding a Muslim is better than fasting for a month.”
