And from him, from Ahmad ibn Idris and Muhammad ibn Yahya, from Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Yahya, from Ahmad ibn al-Hasan, from Amr ibn Said, from Musaddiq ibn Sadaqah, from Ammar ibn Musa, from Abu Abdillah عليه السلام, peace be upon him, who said:
I (narrator) asked Imam عليه السلام about ‘a man upon whom there are some of the three days of the month. Is it proper for him to delay them and fast them at the end of the month?’ Imam عليه السلام said: “There is no harm.” I (narrator) asked: “Should he fast them consecutively, or separate between them?” Imam عليه السلام said: “Whatever he likes; if he wishes, consecutively, and if he wishes, he separates between them.”
