Chapter on Additions

And from him, from Muhammad ibn Ahmad al-Alawi, from al-Amraki al-Khurasani, from Ali ibn Jafar, from his brother Imam Musa ibn Ja’far عليه السلام, peace be upon them both, who said: I (narrator) asked Imam عليه السلام about ‘the fast of three days during the Hajj and the seven (days to be fasted). Should he fast them consecutively or separate between them?’ Imam عليه السلام said: “He fasts the three days, not separating between them, and the seven days, not separating between them, and he does not combine the seven days and the three days all together.”
