From him, from Muhammad ibn al-Husayn, from Uthman ibn Isa, from Samaah ibn Mihran, who said:
I (narrator) asked Imam عليه السلام about ‘two men who stood and looked toward the dawn, and one of them said, ‘It is this,’ and the other said, ‘I do not see anything.’’ Imam عليه السلام said: “Then let the one to whom the dawn has not become clear eat, while eating has become forbidden for the one who claimed that he has seen the dawn. Indeed Allah سبحانه وتعالى, the Exalted, says: ‘Eat and drink until the white thread becomes clear to you from the black thread of the dawn, then complete the fast until the night.’” (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:187)
