Ahmad ibn al-Hasan, from Amr ibn Saeed al-Madaini, from Musaddiq ibn Sadaqah, from Ammar al-Sabati, who said:
I (narrator) asked Abu Abdillah عليه السلام, peace be upon him, about ‘a man who rinses his mouth, and water enters his throat while he is fasting.’ Imam عليه السلام said: “There is nothing upon him if he did not deliberately intend that.” I (narrator) asked: “So if he rinsed his mouth a second time, and water entered his throat?” Imam عليه السلام said: “There is nothing upon him.” I (narrator) asked: “He rinsed his mouth a third time.” Imam عليه السلام said: “He has acted badly (exceeded the allowed amount), but there is nothing upon him (about breaking his fast), and no making up (qada).”
