Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn al-Hasan, from al-Husayn, from Ibn Abi Umayr, from Hammad, from al-Halabi, from Abu Abdillah عليه السلام, peace be upon him: (Imam عليه السلام was asked) concerning ‘the fasting person who performs wudu (ablution) for prayer, and water enters his throat.’ Imam عليه السلام said: “If his wudu (ablution) was for an obligatory prayer, then there is no making up upon him, but if his wudu was for a supererogatory prayer, then upon him is the making up.”
