From him, from Ali ibn al-Sindi, from Uthman ibn Isa, from Samaah, who said:
I (narrator) asked Imam عليه السلام about the man, ‘what should he do when he wants to travel?’ Imam عليه السلام said: “When dawn rises and he has not departed (his home town), then upon him is the fasting of that day. But if he goes out from his family before the rising of dawn, then let him break the fast, and there is no fast upon him. And if he arrives after the sun has passed the meridian, he breaks the fast and does not eat openly. And if he arrives from his journey before the sun has passed the meridian, then upon him is the fasting of that day, if he wishes.”
