The Signs of the Mahdī’s Reappearance

Saʿd b. ʿAbd Allāh from Muḥammad b. al-Ḥusayn b. Abī’l-Khaṭṭāb, from Muḥammad b. Ismāʿīl b. Bazīʿ, from ʿAbd Allāh b. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Aṣamm, from al-Ḥusayn b. al-Mukhtār al-Qalānisī, from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Siyāba, from Abī ʿAbd Allāh عليه السلام, that he said: “How will you people be when you remain (apparently) without an Imam of guidance, or a standard (to rally around)? Will some of you disavow others? For at that time, you will be sieved, sifted and separated from the chaff, and at that time the two swords will clash, and dominion will be had at the beginning of the day, and killing and overthrow at its end.”
