Man Lā Yaḥḍuruh al-Faqīh|Volume 1|Book 1|Chapter 59
Jamil ibn Darraj reported from Zurarah ibn A'yan, who said: I asked Abu Ja'far عليه السلام about the ruling for shortening the prayer. Imam عليه السلام said: "A barid going and a barid returning. The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم would shorten his prayers when he reached Dhu'bāb."
