وَ أَخْبَرَنِي اَلشَّيْخُ أَيَّدَهُ اَللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْ أَبِي اَلْقَاسِمِ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَعْقُوبَ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ اَلنَّوْفَلِيِّ عَنِ اَلسَّكُونِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ قَالَ:« إِذَا حَثَوْتَ اَلتُّرَابَ عَلَى اَلْمَيِّتِ فَقُلْ إِيمَاناً بِكَ وَ تَصْدِيقاً بِنَبِيِّكَ هَذَا مَا وَعَدَ اَللَّهُ وَ رَسُولُهُ صَلَّى اَللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ» قَالَ« وَ قَالَ أَمِيرُ اَلْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ «سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اَللَّهِ صَلَّى اَللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ يَقُولُ« مَنْ حَثَا عَلَى مَيِّتٍ وَقَالَ هَذَا اَلْقَوْلَ أَعْطَاهُ اَللَّهُ بِكُلِّ ذَرَّةٍ حَسَنَةً».
The Shaykh (Al-Mufid), may Allah سبحانه وتعالى support him, narrated to me from Abu al-Qasim Ja‘far ibn Muhammad, from Muhammad ibn Ya‘qub, from ‘Ali ibn Ibrahim, from his father, from al-Nawfali, from al-Sakuni, from Abu ‘Abdullah عليه السلام:
Imam عليه السلام said: "When you pour soil over the deceased, say: 'Out of faith in You and belief in Your Prophet - this is what Allah سبحانه وتعالى and His Messenger (may Allah سبحانه وتعالى bless him and his family) promised.'" Imam عليه السلام also said: Commander of the Faithful عليه السلام said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah سبحانه وتعالى (may Allah سبحانه وتعالى bless him and his family) say: 'Whoever pours soil over a deceased and recites these words, Allah سبحانه وتعالى will grant him a reward for every particle of soil.'"
