Chapter on Menstruation, Istihada (abnormal bleeding), and Nifas (postpartum bleeding)

Sa’d bin Abdullah, from Al-Sindi bin Muhammad Al-Bazzaz, from Yunus bin Ya’qub, from Abu Basir, who said: I asked Abu Abdullah عليه السلام about a woman who sees blood for five days, then purity for five days, then sees blood for four days, and then sees purity for six days. Imam عليه السلام said: "If she sees blood, she should not pray, and if she sees purity, she should pray. She should continue this pattern until thirty days have passed. If, after completing thirty days, she sees continuous bleeding, she should perform ghusl, use a cloth to stop the flow, and secure it with cotton at the time of every prayer. If she then sees a yellowish discharge, she should perform wudu."
