Chapter on Instructing the Dying (Talqin al-Muhtadarin)

Al-Husayn ibn Sa'id narrated from Muhammad ibn Abi Umayr, from Ibrahim al-Khazzaz, from Uthman al-Nawwa, who said: I said to Abu Abdillah عليه السلام: "I wash the dead." Imam عليه السلام asked: "Do you do it well?" I replied: "I wash the dead." Imam عليه السلام said: "When you wash the deceased, be gentle with them. Do not squeeze them, and do not bring any camphor near his ears."
