Chapter on the Prayer Times (Mawaqit)

Muhammad ibn Isma'il narrated from Al-Fadl ibn Shadhan from Safwan from Abu Al-Hasan عليه السلام, who said: I asked Him عليه السلام about a man who forgot the Dhuhr prayer until the sun had set, while he had already prayed Asr. Imam عليه السلام said: "Abu Ja'far, peace be upon him, (or my father عليه السلام, peace be upon him), used to say: 'If he is able to pray it before Maghrib escapes him, he should begin with it; otherwise, he should pray Maghrib first and then pray it.'"
